School project made during 8th semester, Simulating & Modelling Urban Flows.
Municipal dreams of a new residential neighbourhood placed within a site struggling with severe ground pollution, it was students’ task to develop temporary urban design installations applied with contemporary information technologies, in order to create awareness (placemaking) and use of the site before and during its development.
Playing with the symbolism of the toxic and deadly ground, combined with historical references to urban development where churches are seen within various city districts, a large interactive cross as the new neighbourhood’s church, receiving energy from a solar panel park symbolising tombstones in a cemetery, was designed.
