School project made during 2nd semester, Industrial Design I.
A wood dresser of a certain size and with five drawers was to be re-designed. The general dimensions and the amount of drawers should remain the same.
From the designer’s point of view, the typical dresser often looks big and heavy, including the dresser that was going to be re-designed. The main goal for the designer was hereby how to give the dresser lightness, while still having good storage possibilities.
Looking at the skyscrapers on Manhattan, the designer found inspiration of how he could re-design the dresser and give it the wanted light expression.
