School project made during 5th & 6th semester, Industrial Design IV & V.
Inspired by the look, strength and lightness of a classic bike frame, the design of the Lounge Frame chair was developed with an eco-friendly mindset, focusing on simplicity.
Just as many bike frames are made out of aluminium, the Lounge Frame chair’s design is based on the use of two recycled aluminium sheets, cut out by water-jet cutting, bended into the right shapes and finally assembled only by pinning and wedging the parts together.
Turning the waste material from the cutting process into a combined side table and children’s chair, the design makes use of close to all material from the two aluminium sheets.
